Canoe Kayak trip on Vézère – Dordogne :
Montignac-Lascaux ➤ Sors or Trémolat
Day 1 : 19 km from Montignac to Tursac (about 4h30)
Departure from our base in Le Bugue at 9 am. Bus ride to Montignac, admire the landscape!
You see the Castle of Losse, then the splendid Castle of Belcayre with its rocky promontory in the village of Sergeac.
The village of Saint-Léon-sur-Vézère (one of the most beautiful villages in France) is perfect for a sheltered, gastronomic and relaxing stop (small accessible beaches). Stroll in the streets to meet its craftsmen, its restaurants and snacks, its church and the metal bridge.
The day continues with the troglodyte fort of la Roque Saint-Christophe, its cliffs and rock shelters.
You then navigate to « la ferme de Fournet »* in Tursac, your destination for the night. Or the bivouac is tolerated (within the limits of respect for the environment and residents).
* This small campsite doesn’t have restaurant, plan your evening meal and breakfast. You can do your shopping in St Léon sur Vézère (small village at the edge of the water) between Montignac and Tursac.
Day 2 : 21km from Tursac to Le Bugue (about 4h30 downhill)
After a good breakfast, you embark to the troglodyte village of « La Madeleine ».
You glide down the river among the troglodyte vegetation and cliffs, with views sometimes open to the landscape, sometimes closed in a tunnel of trees and cliffs.
You pass the village of Les Eyzies, observe the many holes in the rocks, which used to host the houses of the cliffs
You go through the forest of the village of Campagne.
At the end of the day after a few shady halts, you arrive at our base in Le Bugue for thé over night where you want to. See our good addresses for accommodation or more. Or you can stop a bit further down after the village for a wild bivouac

Day 3 : 20 km from Le Bugue to Trémolat (about 4h30)
or 10 km (Le Bugue-> Sors)
For your third day, after breakfast, you leave towards the confluence of the Vézère and Dordogne, the beautiful and steep village of Limeuil (one of the most beautiful villages in France), you can walk its paths , a few artisan shops, gourmet restaurants and visit the panoramic gardens.
About 20 mn of canoeing after Limeuil, you arrive at Sors and its welcoming beach on the Dordogne. A perfect stop for a snack and a swim. Depending on your form, we can pick you up there, or you can do another 10km (nearly 2h) to Trémolat.
We bring you back by mini-bus to the base. Single return at 5pm
The service includes: the rental of equipment (boat, paddles, the buoyancy aid vest and large waterproof barrels), transportation by minibus, insurance … and advice).
No extra charge for kayaking.
Only one departure at 9am. Be present at our canoe base 20 to 30 minutes before to have time to prepare your stuff.
